"Annie and the Butterflies" This is a delightful and endearing story dedicated to the author's grandmother . It is about a young girl growing up in the mid 1920's and her passion for butterflies, truly one of natures most beautiful creations. "There are many links with butterflies in mythology from all over the world, many of which, in particular Greek mythology, link butterflies to the human soul.." - WikiAnswers at www.wiki.answers.com
Excerpt from the book:
"Annie grew up on a small northern farm in the township of Amabel, Ontario. There were many barnyard animals to occupy her time, yet she was always drawn to the nearby meadow, especially when the butterflies appeared each spring, as if by magic. She thought about the early days of spring when her mother sat outside their farmhouse and churned the cream from the cows milk into butter. As she sat next to her mother and watched, Annie was fascinated by the butterflies as they were drawn to the churn and recalled the butterfly story her mother had once told her.
"Momma, why do they call them butterflies?" asked Annie, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"That is a very good question Annie. Now let me see if I recall the story my mother told me," said her mother with a smile.
