STUDENT VOLUNTEERS:
We are currently seeking student volunteers and host schools (maximum five (5) student volunteers per participating school) to assist us with this fundraiser. The group of five (5) volunteers may of course seek additional student volunteers to assist them, unfortunately, Kreative Memories will only be able to provide any additional volunteers with credited hours for volunteering to ensure the majority proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. However we do hope to provide other volunteering opportunities through future fundraisers.
The host school(s) would allow the student(s) volunteers to set up a table in a pre-designated area of their school during approved times (ie: lunch breaks, before and after school) where the student volunteers could collect contributions through the sale of wrist bands, t-shirts and tribute names.
The duration of the fundraising should not be less than 2 days and not exceed 5 days. Each participating school is responsible to collect and submit all order forms and contributions to Kreative Memories.
The “Annie and the Butterflies” Cancer Fundraiser was designed to raise both awareness and proceeds. Through information provided by the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Public Health Agency of Canada, our emphasis with participating schools is on raising awareness among our young people by promoting healthy lifestyle choices and open communication; because early detection is second only to preventative healthcare to ensure and maintain healthy bodies and minds.
The theme color chosen and approved by the Canadian Cancer Society for this fundraiser is Our slogan is “I Care”, and was created by a grade 10 student. SCHOOL INCENTIVE: An opportunity to assist some students gain the necessary and valuable skills of volunteering within the comfort of their own school. Many children are timid with volunteering, and so this may be an avenue to create confidence. It may also present an opportunity for those who require a few hours more towards completion of their volunteer requirements or just wanting to further enhance their transcripts with additional volunteering. Each participating school raising $100.00 or more can have their school’s name added to the “Appreciation” page (bold print) of the Tribute Story Book. Each participating school raising $250.00 or more will receive one (1) Free softcover copy of “Annie and the Butterflies” Tribute Story Book for their school’s library. BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING for the “ANNIE And The BUTTERFLIES" CANCER FUNDRAISER: Working together to make a difference. Learning and understanding the importance and benefits of making healthy lifestyle choices by promoting preventative care. Helping those affected by cancer by raising proceeds for preventative care, ongoing care and furthering research for all. STUDENT INCENTIVE: Each student volunteer (maximum five (5) student volunteers per host school), may receive and/or be entitled to the following: - One Free orange fundraiser wrist band (maximum five (5) per school) - Volunteers may purchase an "I Care" T-shirt for $6.00 (1) per volunteer, maximum five (5) per school at this price (the purchase of the t-shirts at this price do not qualify as part of the monies raised to receive a free t-shirt) - Any group of student volunteers raising $250.00 or more, up to a maximum of five (5) student volunteers per school may receive each one (1) "I Care" T-shirt Free (maximum five (5) student volunteers per school) - A Volunteer Certificate for Elementary level student volunteers - A Volunteer Certificate for Secondary level student volunteers in addition to a letter of credit to be used towards their secondary school diploma requirements (the student volunteer's will be on the honor system for reporting their volunteer hours, unless the host school states otherwise) Each participating school may have their school name and contact(s) posted to the Kreative Memories website detailing their participation date(s) and directing people within their community to their fundraising efforts. At the end of each school's fundraising participation period, their school name, volunteers name (first names only and with parents written consent) and the total contributions raised will be posted to the Kreative Memories website. Additional Volunteer Incentives: The student volunteer group (maximum five (5)volunteers per school), raising the most contributions, one (1) school at the Elementary level and one (1) school at the Secondary level will receive the following: - an Awards plaque for their school acknowledging their participation and achievement in raising the most contributions - an announcement posted to the Kreative Memories website (with parents written consent) - one (1) autographed copy each, of “Annie and the Butterflies” Tribute Story Book as an additional Thank You. Announcement of the two (2) schools and their volunteers raising the majority contributions will be posted to the front page of this website in January 2009. All participating schools will be notified. You will receive the necessary information in a fundraiser package consisting of master copies of order records, order forms, and dedication forms, along with appropriate information provided by the Canadian Cancer Society; as well as healthy living information provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada. Masters of the forms are being provided in lieu of creating an overproduction of unnecessary forms and to avoid paper wasting. We look forward to your support in promoting healthy lifestyle choices, while raising awareness in the prevention of cancer, and raising proceeds to fund ongoing care and furthering research in the quest for a cure.
